Eric Johnson--UT QB or Bobby Flay?

Today Kylie had her first experience with yard work. I can tell you that she wasn't impressed with the messiness of it all. I was finally motivated to pull the weeds from the flower beds and plant some new fall flowers. Since Kylie is now two I really can't use the "we have two small kids so that makes it ok to have the worst yard on the street" excuse anymore. It was actually nice to spend some time outside with Kylie. I gave her a stick and she pretended to help. For the most part she just stood over me and provided running commentary on how dirty it was and ew nasty, etc etc. Logan slept inside the whole time. Eric decided it was because he knew yard work will someday be his responsibility.

On a side note, UT lost to UGA tonight. I'm sure no one is surprised but who thinks the starting QB looks like Eric Johnson? My friend Craig says Eric looks like Bobby Flay. I'll let you be the judge.......

Officially a Johnson

Well today I officially became a Johnson. Yes, two kids, a mortgage, and a lifetime later, I went to the DMV for a new license. I will miss being an Overton but I guess the time had come. Actually, my license expires in ten days so I really didn't have much choice. Moment of silence for JenO. Not that anyone has a great drivers license picture but mine is exceptionally horrible. It is raining today and I had to juggle Kylie and Logan and got drenched in the process. While I was getting the picture Kylie was tugging on my leg demanding her juice cup. I look wild eyed with my hair sticking to my face. Good times!

We were supposed to go to a storytime in Mableton today but the rain is keeping us indoors. Sometimes I take these days for granted. Nothing planned, no where to be, Kylie is playing in her playroom, Logan is sleeping. It is a nice calm rainy day and I'm on my second cup of coffee.

Life is good.

Country Boy at Heart

Can you believe how BIG this guy is?? He was looking all country boy in his blue jean overalls so I thought I would take a picture and share. Logan is really showing his Tennessee side with those overalls and truck shirt. Today was a crazy day. We were going to storytime this morning with a playgroup and my car started making odd noises when I started it. I went to Advance to have them check the battery and luckily that's all that was wrong. We missed pretty much the entire storytime but we did get to see horses and dogs outside the library. In Kylie's world, that is a success. We are now attempting a nap but it isn't going very well. Kylie has a hard time settling down without her pacifier and I'm not sure how long I should let her stay awake in her crib before calling it a day. She usually goes to sleep after 20-30 minutes but something doesn't seem right about leaving her ithe crib. I hope she gets better about sleeping without the paci soon. I'm not ready to give up nap time!

PBS Family Fun Day.

Uneventful Weekend

I think we have decided to call last night a success. Kylie was a little restless without her pacifier but she never cried for it and she slept all night without any major meltdowns. Logan slept from 11-230 in his crib. He then spent the rest of the night in our bed. We are going to keep putting him in his crib every night until he sleeps through the night in his own room.

We have been lazy this weekend. Eric and I spent our romantic Saturday night playing Wii and watching football. Kylie did a little Karaoke this morning and Logan slept for two days. Yep, that was pretty much the weekend. We were supposed to go on a trip to Reynolds Plantation next weekend but Eric's boss cancelled the trip because of layoffs, etc in the company. I completely understand why but I was REALLY looking forward to the rest and relaxation. Such is life......

Recent Pics

Smiley Logan looking like his Daddy

Kylie at the Zoo

Here are some new pics. I'm trying to be better about having the camera handy. With Kylie I snapped about 400 pictures a day. With two I'm lucky to take four a month!

No Paci No Cry

Our boy is 14lbs and 25 inches long!!! Logan had his two month checkup on Friday and everything went well. Poor guy ended up with five shots but he took em' like a champ. Kylie had her flu shot and was not happy at all. We were still hearing all about her boo boo at 8 o'clock last night.

Tonight is a huge milestone in the Johnson house. Kylie is sleeping without her pacifier for the first time. We told her pacis were for babies and she threw it in the trash. When we put her to bed she asked for the paci but we told her again it was for babies. She never was hysterical about it, she was talking to herself about the paci for a while and then she went to sleep. My big girl handled this much better than we ever thought she would.

Milestone number two is Logan is sleeping in his own room in his crib. No more babies in the bed! Now secretly I'm going to miss my cuddle buddy but it is time for him to sleep on his own. Eric and I are each manning a video monitor at night but hey, at least they are physically out of our room right?
